Library & Resources
The Steam Railroading Institute is home to an impressive library with a variety of railroad content that’s both preserved and archived.
This includes a wide range of literature from books to magazine dating back to the steam era. The prize pieces in our library are hours of historic documents and artifacts that traces back to the early days of the Michigan State University Railroad Club and the very first restoration of Pere Marquette 1225. We’re also proud to contain historic artifacts dating back as far as the days of the Pere Marquette Railway in the early 20th Century!
The SRI Library is located on the ground level of the Welcome Center and is open to the public on the days when we’re open for tours. The Library is also available online, Click here for a complete listing of the publications available to view.
Disclaimer: The Steam Railroading Institute will be postponing the 2020 opening day and Spring Hours for visits and tours. The Institute will remain closed to the general public until further notice. Click here for more information.
